Two answers, 1) NO, although the style which was at this time just quick and easy draw and wash and take out what didn't belong as opposed to now more painterly, it was the stress of some pretty unbelievable deadlines and demands, many all nighters, diminishing money allotted for illustrations in budgets, and in this particular case egos. 2) YES, it paid the bills, well, most of the time.....
