Thank you Pat, while working on another painting, I did this quick little sketch on a small piece of paper (1 1/2" x 2"). I liked it as a sketch but I also liked it more as a thing in itself. I would put in all kinds of places in my studio, so, what I wanted to do here was to keep it as an object on a page, not jutting out in 3D. That is why the signature is there and not on the art, by signing the page I made the page part of the object and visa versa.........
