Description
This is one of my last or I should say latest sludge paintings, the green has been boosted a bit in I photo mainly to enhance the texture. My grandson turned 3 recently so I got him a couple of these trains, the green one is named Percy. After I applied the sludge and worked it around a bit, I didn't know what to do with it so I let it sit for awhile, then one day I said to hell with it I'll just paint out what I don't want to save, and so I came up with this shape. When I saw Percy it reminded me of this shape and the way this is done it looks like a kids rendering, actually it is not finished, its beckoning for red and I know right where I'm going to put it.

Hi Cliff.... you always amaze me with things that should never work but somehow you constantly are pulling it off. It's a high wire act, my friend, and I can only applaud.
Cliff Spohn replied:
Thank you very much James for those encouraging words, I guess I work with a really large net, so I can push things and see what happens, if I fail then I've learned something and start something else. I guess thats what its all about isn't it, thats what art is all about I think, of course theres more but I have no more space......

Cute story, and I like it without the red. That green is intoxicating.
Cliff Spohn replied:
Thank you very much Pat, now you got me thinking about that red, you know, I think you're right!!
