Congratulations! You're a TIED winner for 2nd Place in the contest: PENGUINS! Thank you for your participation! Finished or not, this is indeed great work. What hit me was the clarity of the face!

great piece, and i'd call it finished. wonderful sketchy feel augmented by leaving in a few unfinished pencil-like gestures, much like the work of the late great bob kuhn. the nebulous orb over the shoulder of the bird is a bit ominous: one can imagine it's the fin of an approaching killer whale. run penguin, run!

Thank you very much Pamela for the compliment, I appreciate it. I just need to do a little more work on the body to make him/her look more complete and dimensional... The consensus is to leave feet alone......
Pamela Pretty
This is one fantastic bird- I love the way you have painted him/her. I like the feet like they are too. well done.

Thank you Patricia, at the time I started this painting I was also going to paint a couple large blue footed boobys and red ones too but I got too busy and distracted with other things, but they are still on my list of things to paint. I like the feet like this too, thats why I can't seem to finish it.

This is great!! And I like the feet just the way they are. It's not often you see a painting of a penguin. Can you paint a blue-footed booby? I've seem many photos of them, but no paintings. Exotic birds are most interesting.
