I really like yellow and black...There are four main artist that have influenced my fine art painting the most, they are Motherwell, Diebenkorn, Rauschenberg and Tapies...this is a Motherwell one....I was heavily influenced by the elegy series by Motherwell because the almost silhouetted black shapes had some indication of being human, male, female both being affected by war, either causing it or suffering because of it. Thank you for the nice comment, Pamela, I wish you were there, then you can tell me how I did it, lol, because when I start on these smaller paintings, I grab what ever is around and start applying paint or what ever makes a mark, I do remember using the end of the brush to make the shape on the left, and how that simple move changed the whole dimensional direction of the piece. Thanks for the vote, I don't get many of those!!!

Thanks Allen, a lot of my abstracts are small and usually preliminaries for much larger pieces, this one I thought would make a really powerful large painting....
