I kept hearing the song Vahevala in my head, it was driving me crazy so I had to purge it from my mind by giving it away, hence the title and it does sorta have a nautical feeling.....

Thank you Lauren, for the great compliment, and I am glad that you can find inspiration in my work. I understand what you mean about the boundaries, my abstracts were the catalyst for opening up my boundaries, doing the tight realistic commercial work bound me up, but doing both, they became symbiotic, of course, I like the abstract more. I think you do great work, its so nice to see an artist actually do abstract work, as intended, not as some miserable failed attempt at some other genre, and then call it an abstract. Your boundaries seem to be working just fine!!!

Huge fan Cliff I love your abstracts they inspire me to push my self imposed boundaries, to play, let go and experiment more, your work is so juicy haha I love it :)

Hi Pat, thank you for the compliment!! I tried to find out, the only thing I could find was that it is the name of somebody's sail boat. It does have a similar sound to Valhalla. I should have called this Valhallavahevala, has a nice ring to it doesn't it? Try saying that five times really fast.....:)

I wonder what Vahevala means -- sounds Scandinavian. I love the sea, and I feel it in this painting. Beautiful, Cliff!
