This is very nice, and a very strong entry in the abstract naturalism contest. It was ultimately not chosen as one of the winners, but it was a close thing. If you wouldn't mind, I would love it if you would be willing to submit it to the Abstract Naturalism group directly so that I can add it to the highlights page there.

Thank you Denise for your compliment, I appreciate it! I too love the colors and composition of this piece, it was sort of the compilation of all the other sludge paintings. I checked out Brett's work, and there is a similarity, even to the big hair, must have been something in the 60's atmosphere!!

Love this composition Cliff...the lovely colour palette and fine black lines reminds me of one of my favourite Australian painter Brett Whitely's Woman in a Bath 1963. l/f and pinned

Thank you very much Mary for the compliment!! I was really surprised with the award, especially for this painting. The work I have posted is an accumulation of my illustrations over a 39 year span, and the abstracts a little less time. The abstracts have basically been a learning process over the past 29 years or so. I am in the process of trying to get back into the swing of things, hence my recent 'start' series, which I explain on their pages... The quality and the amount of wonderful work you have done and are doing, you should feel no shame!!!;-)

Congratulations on your Art Magazine award, Cliff. I have been looking at some of your abstracts and am astounded at so many of your images --and at how many you have created. You must be creating 24/7. Puts me to shame. Love your work.
